VIZIO D43-C1 43" 1080p 120Hz Class LED HDTV

Picked one of these up cyber monday week. I've since seen it on sale refurbished for $299. Thin bezel, looks nice. The picture is very good once it's properly tuned. Check the settings on the menu. It looked washed out when I first turned it on. The menu fonts can be hard to read, but you hopefully don't need them very often. I don't use the speakers on the TV, I have a home theater for that. The screen contrast is very good, and sunlight doesn't wash out the screen like the last set I was using. I have an HDMI splitter with a nexus player and a DVR going to the HDMI port, A PS3 is on the second HDMI, so only 2 ports isn't an issue. I easily found a code for my Cisco DVR remote for the TV, so it's back into the pile of remotes I don't use for the TV remote. (Why does anyone make a remote without a backlight?) You can turn off the LED power indicator on the TV when it's on, less light. This is a good dumb TV (which for me is a good thing) for a great price.

Just purchased this 43" Vizio D43-C1 TV. Mounted it on the bedroom wall as a replacement for a smaller Vizio E320VP 32" TV. I'm a cord cutter. OTA with a Roku-3. It doesn't have a TV Guide like the Vizio E320VP. It just shows the channel you are on and a brief description what's playing NOW ONLY. The other TV showed a several hour spread across the screen and you could scroll down 12 hours to see what's coming on. Plus you have to use binoculars to see the small print that is there. I'll agree with the others here the sound is bad. Useless USB port. No computer hook-up through USB or VGA. The good. Very good picture. I get like 19 digital channels here at 33914. Thin design. 2 Hdmi ports. It has a USB but you can't plug a computer into it. Its only if you want to show photos with a Pen drive that will pug into the USB port. I wish there was a better description before I bought it. Other then that nice TV.

I just can't believe how bad the audio is on this television. I'm returning it asap. The sound is not even tolerable. Some reviewers describe this problem as a lower octave. Whatever it is, the problem is a clear distortion that is not normal. I would call it a harmonic echo inside the cabinet at lower frequencies. Due to its prominence, the distortion absolutely ruins the viewing experience. I simply can't believe that a television was brought to market with this problem. At first, I suspected a defect, but other reviewers have tried a second television only to experience the same problem. Other than this CRITICAL sound problem, this is a great television. If the sound was tinny or lacked bass, that would be OK. Distortion is simply unacceptable. Look elsewhere....

We have purchased two Vizio TVs in the past 3 years. The first one the audio was very soft when playing Blu-Ray discs, but was fine when playing HD discs. We thought it was caused by our Blu-Ray player, but later learned from the Walmart sales employee in the electronics department that there were frequent similar problems with the HDMI ports on Vizios. The TV was out of warranty, but we gave it to our son since he didn't use Blu-Ray. We bought a larger model (43") as a replacement. It worked well for 1-1/2 years, then the video began flashing off for a long period of time when changing channels. After about a month we lost the picture totally, but audio still works. Again, it is out of warranty. Not buying another Vizio TV. We replaced it with a Sony Bravia. We have two older Sony Bravia TVs in the house and they still work great.

Upgraded to this Visio model from an older 32" Visio model, and so glad I did! Though this tv is a basic model, it has exceeded all my expectations. The setup is simple, and the picture and audio are outstanding! I didn't purchase the built-in apps model because I have a Roku stick, and the Roku setup was simple, as was my Blu-Ray player and laptop setups. Very happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone desiring a model with non-built in apps.
