The bigger of this year's two Nexus handsets seems like a dream on paper, with premium build quality, top-tier specs and access to the latest software updates straight from Google. Most importantly, Google finally has made a big phone that's comfortable to use with one hand. It's great for die-hard Android enthusiasts, but we're all spoiled for choice this year and the Nexus 6P doesn't do much to outshine the competition.

With its stellar camera performance and premium build, the Nexus 6P is the best device Google's ever commissioned.

By Phone Scoop on November 12, 2015 90

The Nexus 6P may be $120 more than the Nexus 5X, but that is money well spent. In this case, the 6P solves all the problems evident in the 5X with only a few drawbacks. The 6P is a fine handset from Huawei, thanks to the metal design, fine build...

Originally, Nexus phones stood out for being excellent value at a price that was low, but not the lowest. They weren't an alternative to flagship phones, but they had the advantage of running stock Android and getting the next version more quickly. The...

The first no compromise Nexus is a beautiful, fast and worthy canvas for Android Marshmallow. If you’re looking for an Android phone, this is the one you want.

When Google released the Nexus 6 last year, it split public opinion, and although the Motorola-designed handset was fast and good-looking, its sheer size put a sizeable chunk of people off. Google has taken note this year, and has scaled its ambitions...

Not at all. While the Nexus 6 was plastic fantastic, the 6P is gorgeous metal. The pure metal body has a hint of a curve meaning it is comfortable to hold while just being 7.3mm thick. You might not see it in the black (graphite) model, but in the grey...

Is the Nexus 6P worth that kind of cheddar? In a word: absolutely. There are shortcomings here as with any phone: some of Android Marshmallow's new features aren't quite ready for primetime; there's a missed opportunity to take full advantage of the...

By Phone Arena on October 22, 2015 80

Huawei, in the end, stands to greatly benefit from the Nexus 6P. Its name on the back of the phone might be overshadowed by the humungous Nexus moniker that's splashed on there as well, but it very well has deeper implications to its reputation. The...

Get the Nexus 6P over the Nexus 5X if a premium metal design and a bigger screen are important to you.

By The Verge on October 20, 2015 88

Call it the premium category, call it the big leagues, call it whatever you what: the Nexus 6P and Google are competing at a different level than they did before. The Nexus was always a good Android phone, sometimes a great one, but never the best one.

By PCMag on October 20, 2015 90

The Google Nexus 6P is one of the best unlocked smartphones you can buy, thanks to a heady combination of powerhouse hardware, an excellent camera, a reliable fingerprint scanner, and the promise of the latest Android updates.

In some ways these devices feel like a combination of the best ideas from the Android ecosystem. You get Motorola's ambient display and always-on voice commands, LG's laser auto focus, and Google's software design, security, and fast updates. This year's crop of Nexus phones are devices that stand alone atop the Android ecosystem, with a combination of features you won't find anywhere else. If you're in the market for an Android phone, you've run out of excuses not to get a Nexus.

By Stuff on October 19, 2015 100

One of the best Nexus devices to date, and a real alternative to the cream of the crop from Samsung and LG.
