InterContinental Tampa - Tampa

We were only here for a quick stay as part of a whirlwind 3-city weekend trip, but the room was comfortable and clean. The staff were nice and were helpful in accommodating an early checkin for us. The free parking was easy with a door directly into the second floor of the hotel, but valet was also available. Tampa's not a huge town, so any hotel's […] going to be close enough to just about everything, but we did rent a car to get around to our various destinations. It was just about 15 minutes from the airport and also from the other venue where the event we were in town for was held. If I ever find myself in Tampa again, I'd definitely stay at the Intercontinental again. Devam?

Unlike most airport hotels, this Intercontinental is within an easy walk of nice restaurants and a major shopping center. Parking is convenient without need for valet service. In fact, seeing how valet drivers speed through garage would make one hestitate to use this service. Housekeeping is the most inconsistent I have experienced. If not for that […] factor, I would highly rate hotel and recommend it as long as you have your own transportation (it is inconvenient to downtown Tampa, even somewhat so with your own car). Devam?

excellent close to TPA

the downside was the room looked into a center atrium that was facing offices in the adjoining tower. nothing to look at and needed to keep the drapes closed. ask about this before you book the room or at check-in

In some rooms (like mine) you cannot open the blinds as windows face an office building (like 15 ft) and you will never see the light. Hotel offered free transfer from Tampa airport. We called the hotel and spoke to concierge. He said he would send the transfer bus. This never happened. We waited 45 minutes and called again. Spoke to front desk and she took care of getting the transfer to us. Concierge dropped the ball but we would not hold that against them. We liked this hotell, although it was clear that their target was not families with young children. Room very nice and pool too. Close to shopping centre and restaurants.

a very noisy hotel, bad insulation you can hear when people walk in the hall. faucet broke water splash everywhere.

We enjoyed our stay we only have three complaints - Beds are small for two people. We were 4 and it's not so comfortable. They should consider changing the beds to queen size. - Fridge in the room is useless because there is no space for us to put anything in it. Cost vs Value is incredible at this hotel.

Had a bay view king for last weekend. The location was nice but nothing to write home about. The hotel was clean and the staff was very helpful. The only knock against it is the air in the room, don't know if it had to do with circulation or what just we could not get the room comfortable.

The hotel is conveniently close to Tampa Airport. In addition to the mall across the street, the hotel has plenty of other accommodations nearby including the International Plaza within five miles of the hotel. Great bar and restaurant inside of the InterContinental and an extremely professional staff.

Very nice hotel, close to the airport with shuttle service, remember to call the shuttle to pick you up. We needed a crib for our baby, the hote; provided at no extra charge.

I have worked for Hilton and had the pleasure to stay in many hotels. The Intercontinental Tampa is a great locale, for shopping, dining, entertainment all within a short walk. The airport is close by and so is the freeway to the beaches, etc. Walgreens less than a block away for drugstore convenience 24 hours. The Breakfast is a great value at Don […] Shula's Steakhouse in morning, but the hotel as a hole could use a remodeling update for design, comfort, and to maintain a contemporary feel. Parking is a lil tight in the back deck but is an easy walk to the lobby. Overall, good value for money and prime hotel to stay if you need to be close to everything in Westshore area. Devam?

When attempting to turn on shower the handle came right out of wall, no water no shower. Purchased room with breakfast, upon check-in no coupon provided they said just order breakfast and use room number. No mention made of restrictions or dollar value. I owed $8.00 for free breakfast. Less than stellar stay.

What a wonderful Hotel, my wife and I have stayed at much worse hotels for more money. The room was excellent and the service was better. We will be returning in the future.

This hotel was wonderful on all counts...except.... apparently while the kitchen stays open for room service it does not deliver food to bar area after 11! Which is stupid, especially when you learn that the food is already prepared and in saran wrap and will be delivered by the front desk person. Nuts. For a 4 star hotel, the pool is not the best that we had expected. It is too samall and the location is not good. The drinks in the bar area is extremely expensive. Overall the hotel is good!

What a surprise to find the so polite employees, very clean and comfortable room, and close proximity to Starbucks & Panera Bread, as well as the Mall across the street! Although I purchased this hotel through hotels.com, I was required to give a credit card that was run for 2 different holds for incidentals. Then, my credit card was charged for a one night hotel stay, a bottle of figi water, and I had to dispute another bill slipped under my door for alcohol I never consumed. Too much of a hassle to ever stay there […] again if I have to request money back on incorrect credit card charges. Devam?

I wasn't expecting very much from this hotel considering I had never heard of the chain before, however much to my surprise I was greeted with polite valet service or the option to self-park. My luggage was taken from the car and delivered to my room upon arrival. The room was up-to date, and both comfortably and functionally decorated. The bed was […] big and comfortable with plenty of extra pillows if necessary.The minibar was well stocked, however I wish I was given a heads-up that the minibar was completely automated and if you remove any of the items it is automatically charged to your card. This was however simply resolved with a phone call to guest services, and replacing the items in the fridge. We just stayed here for the first time, and we were so impressed. The bed couldn't be more comfortable. The staff was happy to assist with anything we asked of them. It reminded me of a Ritz Carlton, but for a fraction of the price.

Parking was available at the hotel, this is often an issue. The room was comfortable, roomy and business traveler friendly The location of the hotel was perfect for shopping, dining and drinks in the lobby.

My only regret was that we didn?t check in sooner. It had the best price in the 4 to 5 star range, free parking garage with easy access to the hotel, excellent staff, one of the better stocked bars I have seen in a hotel, and the simply amazing (and we ordered the late night room service and was blown away). Don't waste your money here! Too expensive for what you get with so many other hotels to choose from. My first room smelled like a wet dog only much worse. Requested a change and the 2nd room was fine, although the waste basket had not been emptied, so that made me think that the room was not really as clean as it should have been. Conveniently located and nicely appointed. I loved the bed but my husband thought it was too soft. We both agreed the bathroom sink was too high; and he had to run out to the gas station across the street to get a diet soda. Everything else was great. We'd stay again.

Positive remarks: SUPER convenient to the Airport and expressways. Great mall across the street. Modern, updated clean decor. Cheaper than Major name hotels in area. Responsive to service requests. Caveats: Self parking is free, (a plus considering many hotels charge for parking) but it was a hassle to use, especially since the valet takes up ALL the […] good spaces near the elevators on EVERY FLOOR and you always have a long hike!! Valet is $18! I had to valet at night being a female traveling alone. With valet charge, total bill still cheaper than the Marriott. Half of the building is office space, and really close, so if you have a room that faces into the all-glass dark "courtyard" keep your drapes CLOSED at all times! The elevators are on the same side of the "courtyard view", so if they insist on putting you on that side, get a room at least 6 rooms away from the elevator. My first night I was 5 rooms away and that thing resonated LOUDLY through my pillow while trying to sleep!! The next day they were very nice about changing my room to another floor, further down the hall and it was fine. It seems like a lot of conventions get booked there, so be prepared for NOISY groups. The shuttle was quick and easy, the room service was great and overall condition was very good

Fire alarm at 6am woke up entire hotel; false alarm with no explanation hotel staff joked about it...

Rooms are relatively large and comfortable. The lobby is undistinguished. One sour note: charging $6.00 for bottled water is over the top and annoying.
