Comments about Giro G10 Ski Helmet:

After some pretty close calls while cruising through the trees in my never-ending search for powder, I decided it was definitely time to increase my safety while riding and a good helmet was #1 on the list. This helmet is wonderful!!
It is quite light and I hardly notice I am wearing it. It fits nicely with both my Bolle and my Spy goggles which stay in place perfectly. The adjustments are very easily performed while riding via a dial on the back to loosen or tighten the inside the helmet fitting. The amount of ventilation can be adjusted while on the fly by a quick slider switch on top of the helmet. It also doesn't obstruct my vision AT ALL while riding so that isn't an issue either.
So far, the only thing that I don't like is the design of the chin strap. There is a padding cushion on the strap that is comfortable when in place. However, the end of it is loose and keeps sliding away from its intended position so I am constantly moving it back between the strap and my chin. I usually only notice it while I am riding back up on the chairlift but I'm sure some clever modification will keep it in place and I will update this review with my fix when I do.
All in all, this is a wonderful, stylish, comfortable, and protective helmet that is well worth the money!! Oh yeah, it allows for Skullcandy audio earpads which ROCK!!

Comments about Giro G10 Ski Helmet:

I bought this helmet mid-January. I have used it for all the days I have been riding since I purchased it. I really think this is a great helmet. It works great with both pair of goggles I use. One pair is designed to ride very close to my face, the other a little farther off of my face, both work fine. Often I wear a super thin headliner under the helmet, not because my head is cold, but because the top part of my neck gets cold. It also has a handy quick size adjustment to match the circumference of any head, I believe all heads can be fit into one of the given sizes.
The only problem I have with this helmet is the chin strap. It has the same design as their bicycle helmets, which is fine, but in this application, the design is slightly flawed. My biggest gripe is the length of the cushion which sits in between my face and the strap itself, it is not long enough to cover the entire strap and buckle. The lose end of the cushion often gets a little bunched up. There are adjustments both for the length of the strap and how high or low the straps meet below the ears. No height adjustments can really be made (not that any are needed) because the strap gets laced through loops in the bottoms of the ear pads. The ear pads are removable but I have yet figure out how to remove them.

Comments about Giro G10 Ski Helmet:

This helmet already probably saved life or at least a good number of brain cells, on the second day I was wearing it. Another skier, out of control, crashed into me near a life line at Whistler and knocked me flying about 8 ft., tearing me right out of my skis. His helmet hit mine hard, and then my head hit the ground where I landed. I was stunned, but remained conscious and together. I've got a sore chest, but my head is fine!

The helmet is so light and fits so well, I forget I am even wearing it.

Just make sure you have or get goggles that fit tightly to its front edge. I had to buy new ones, but it was time to do so anyway!

Stop making excuses, like I did for years, and buy a good helmet. This one will do great!

Comments about Giro G10 Ski Helmet:

Wore helmet for first time this weekend in North Carolina mountains, and have no complaints. Kept my head warm with and without mask underneath, and did not restrict movement of the neck in any way. The only downside I see is the way the chinstrap buckles, the snap on the left seems to rotate on its own and sometimes pokes below the ear. Ventilation was good, and adjustment is easy.

Comments about Giro G10 Ski Helmet:

This is a very nice helmet. It was perfect with sunglasses which I used for the first 2 days. Days 3-5 were snow dumps so I needed goggles. My particular head shape did not allow a comfortable interface between the helmet and the goggles. The helmet would push the goggles down on the bridge of my nose creating an abrasion. I was continuiously pushing the helmet up and pulling the goggles out and adjusting them. It was irritating. I tried every possible adjustment but could not get the helmet to work with the goggles. I would absolutely recommend this helmet but it must be tried on with goggles first and worn for an hour or two. I casually tried the goggles and the helmet together before I left for the trip but 2 minutes is not enough time to notice the issue.

Comments about Giro G10 Ski Helmet:

Used this helmet since 2007. Mine came with a visor. Keeps you warm, not overheated as it vents very well. I have a small framed face and was worried about fitting goggles and helmet together. Worry not, no issues even using three different goggles. Added headphones to it last year and WHAT A JOY!! And, oh yes, it does protect your noggin.
