Let's be honest: Personal Blogs suck. They're boring, repetitive, self-important writing excercises that are rarely interesting to anyone but the writer. Few people have lives intriguing enough to warrant such diatribes (if they did when would they have time to write about them online?) and yet the internet is filled with them. What makes me think anyone would follow mine?

 

Simply put it's the longest running videoblog in the world. I don't mean I stare at a camera and talk, I actually produce a short video for every single entry. I'm telling the story of trying to make it in LA and you actually see it unfold. I'm honest to a fault and try desperately to chronicle how I feel no matter how stupid, arrogant, scared, lazy, insincere or pathetic it makes me look. My purpose is not to make people like me, it's to make people know me.

Although my online video blog started in May of 1999, the true start of "The Journey" is JANUARY 2000. From that point on I wrote with only one intention: show how the journey of "making it" changes you. Since that time I've also put my radio career in "Journey Format" since I've almost always had a journal. Those are for the hardcore, but do have some gems. Believe it or not I know several people who have tackled the whole beast in about a week. But I beg you, don't skip the videos, they are the heart and soul of this project.

Now, "Sweet Jesus" might be your first thought here. If it is, I suggest the Journey Series page. It's a culmination of all the stories within "The Journey" in digestable 5-20 part series. I think once you go through a few, you'll be ready to tackle the beast. However if that desk job really is boring they hell out of you, JANUARY 2000 awaits.
