Do you support iPod Touch?
Yes. We support all iPod Touch devices except the first generation iPod Touch. The first generation iPod Touch does not have a built-in speaker, so the alarm cannot sound in the morning on it.

Do you support iPad and iPad 2?
Yes. Sleep Cycle works with the iPad and iPad 2. There is one issue with the iPad 2 and Smart Covers. With the default settings Sleep Cycle will cease registering movement when the SmartCover is closed.?A workaround is to disable the Smart Cover auto-lock feature in the settings of the iPad 2.

Do I have to keep the charger connected all night?
We do not recommend using Sleep Cycle without a charger connected. Sleep Cycle uses at average 30% of the battery during one night. Sometimes more sometimes less. If you do not charge your iPhone/iPod touch during the night it can become discharged. Then the alarm will not sound in the morning. If you still want to try Sleep Cycle without a charger we recommend using a regular alarm clock as back up.

Can I use my own MP3 music as a wake up melody?
Yes!

My iPhone/iPod touch becomes hot during the night. Is this normal?
No, this is not normal. Make sure you do not cover your device with anything more than the sheet. For example, make sure that your pillow does not cover your iPhone/iPod touch.

Does Sleep Cycle work on water beds or memory foam mattresses, such as Tempur?
We cannot guarantee that Sleep Cycle will work on these mattresses. Even so, a lot of users have used Sleep Cycle on such mattresses and said that it works well for them.

Can my iPhone/iPod touch be muted (work in silent mode)?
Yes. The alarm will sound in the morning even if the device is muted.

Why is "No Volume Available" displayed?
This is because your iPhone/iPod touch is muted. Un-mute your device using the switch on the side of it and you will be able to select alarm volume. Note that the alarm will sound even if you see this message.

If I wake up in the middle of the night and get up from the bed, should I reset the alarm?
There is no need to reset the alarm during the night.

How well does Sleep Cycle work with 2 people sharing a bed?
We have done a lot of testing in order to make Sleep Cycle work with two persons in bed. The short answer is: yes, Sleep Cycle works very well with two persons in bed. It could be a problem if the person using Sleep Cycle weighs much less than the other person but in normal circumstances it works very well.

There are two cases regarding this issue:

1) Sleep Cycle has a hard time detecting your movement.
In this case the movement of the other person will not be registered at all?so there really is no issue.?Sleep Cycle will work in a mode that uses all movement detected for the sleep analysis.?

2) Sleep Cycle detects a lot of movement, from you AND the other person.
In this case Sleep Cycle will adjust it's algorithm to only register larger movements. The small movements fill be filtered. Since the other person is further away from the device these movements are smaller and will be filtered out.

Our extensive testing show that this works well.

Does Sleep Cycle function properly with auto-lock on?
Yes it does.

Does Sleep Cycle works with Exchange server auto-lock security features on?
Yes it does.

Sleep Cycle detected movement and created a graph when I placed it on a table during the night. Why?
Sleep Cycle needs one, sometimes two, nights to calibrate to your accelerometer. Usually the calibration is not needed but on some (very few) devices the accelerometer is too sensitive and can detect movement when there was none during the first one or two nights. If you place your iPhone/iPod in bed, according to the instructions, then this is not a problem.

When calibrated, Sleep Cycle is extremely sensitive to movement. It can detect the slightest vibrations. For example, you walking past the iPhone/iPad or a car/truck passing by on the street outside.

When you place your iPhone/iPad on a flat surface then Sleep Cycle detects very little movement. It then assumes that the users movements are very difficult to detect and goes into a mode where every movement is treated very seriously (and creates a big spike in the graph).

If you still feel Sleep Cycle creates inaccurate graphs, please do not hesitate to contact us. We'll analyze your data and check if you have discovered an issue with the Sleep Cycle movement-detecting code.

The alarm always goes off at the end of the time! Why?
The most common cause for this is that users lock their iPhone/iPod touch before going to bed. Do NOT lock your device using the button on top of it before going to bed. Locking the device disables the accelerometer and Sleep Cycle must fall back to a back up mode that wakes you at the end of the alarm time.

Also note that Sleep Cycle needs at least two nights to adapt and calibrate to your accelerometer. Taking that into account it is possible for the alarm to go off at the end of the time 3-4 nights in a row when you start using Sleep Cycle.

You can also have a look at the sleep graph examples to see if your phone is sensing your movement correctly.
