When you arrive at the Parish, please note that the Church proper is on your left and the Church Hall is to your right. The gymnasium is on the top floor.

We will try to have the doors open 15 minutes before the first class of the evening. If you arrive late, you may find the front doors secured, in which case please make your way up to the top floor via the fire escape on the left hand side of the building.

Please note that the Parish is only a short walk from the Metrolink Delmar Loop station.

Dress Etiquette

Beginners should wear sweats if they do not own a keiko gi (training uniform).

Visitors from other aikido schools are invited to wear whatever they are accustomed to.

Aikido Schools of Ueshiba encourages all graded members to wear hakama (traditional Japanese skirt-like pants). However, we recognize that many aikidoka associate the hakama with a certain level of skill or rank on behalf of the wearer, particularly regarding ukemi (falling). Thus, our informal policy is to recommend that our members adopt the hakama once they are confident in their own ukemi.
