President/CEO – FILLED

Our client, a publicly listed Company and headquartered in Lima, Peru, is seeking a senior mining executive for the key role of President and Chief Executive Officer. Our client?s immediate goal is to develop several significant Lithium Projects in South America and the US with the goal of becoming the next major Lithium producer.

The President and CEO will have full responsibility for the direction, management and development of the existing projects as well as evaluating potential new acquisitions and opportunities. Specifically, this role will require the successful candidate to direct and manage the project development and all operational requirements for exploration, mine development/production including technical requirements, personnel and environmental/regulatory aspects. While headquartered in Peru, the successful candidate must be willing to travel internationally on an as-needed basis.

Candidates for this role will need to bring 15-20 or more years of experience in exploration, mine development and operations on an international basis, 10 of which will be at a senior level. Ideally, the CEO will have experience in: securing financing and in working with investment banks and institutional investors; and negotiating and closing deals on prospective joint ventures, acquisitions or dispositions. Your communication skills will be superior and you will be equally at home on site or in the board room and competent at presenting to the financial community and other stakeholders. Experience in the development and management of mine operations, including bringing new operations into initial production, is a requirement. Candidates will need to have a university degree in engineering or related field and English/Spanish language fluency is highly desirable. Some experience in Lithium operations is strongly preferred.

Remuneration will be commensurate for a senior role of this nature; with a negotiable base salary, and will include appropriate performance incentives, benefits and perks.
