This is pretty lax as far as "punishment" goes... it's more of a joke than anything. It's not like they're banning your account or something like that. If you manage to get it early and it's too hard to play online, you could simply play offline until release date. I don't really see the problem here.

Where do people even get early copies of things? I've never seen a game on sale early... I guess I don't look in the right places.

In any case, there's an easy solution to this if it's too difficult to play... don't play online. Problem solved.

K, nevermind... guess it just downloads a "key" that allows you to download Vietnam from within the game... Guess that works.

Anyone else seeing weird issues with this download? I bought it earlier and swear it said something like 1.8GB. When I turned on my 360 it downloaded instantaneously, is taking up something like 2MB, and when I go to re-download it says it's only 1.06MB. This couldn't possibly only take up just over 1MB...

I'm already paying for a "subscription" to NYT Crossword puzzles... Not sure what this changes.

Some are better, some are worse... unfortunately none are as good for Rocket Races it seems.

You mean releasing 30 different Guitar Hero variations a year was too much? Well, crap, I just saw a bunch of MBAs heads explode.

I think I remember this and Total Annihilation coming out around the same time, and most people considered Total Annihilation the superior game... Ah, the good old days.

Well, crap... I really prefer the 360 controllers and while I'll undoubtedly be playing this with my wife in split screen, anyone else I know who gets the game will end up getting it for 360... The cross-platform isn't that big a deal to me, but the free voucher is pretty damn nice... Wouldn't mind having the game for PC as well as a console... sometimes just nice to have a game at my fingertips on Steam.
